Terms of Service
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and drophost ("we", "us", or "our") for use of the file sharing service at drophost.space and related share URLs we operate (the "Service").
If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use drophost on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
The service
drophost lets users upload supported files and receive a URL that can be opened by recipients, with or without a drophost account. Features may include project management, password protection, custom domains, branding controls, visit analytics, and paid plan limits.
Current plan limits and pricing are described on the pricing page and may change. We may add, change, or remove features, including free-tier limits, with reasonable notice when practical.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, including agent uploads made with your API keys. Keys are hashed, shown once, and act as credentials. Revoke a leaked key in Settings.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, fail payment, or remain inactive in ways that harm the Service.
Your content
You retain ownership of files and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant drophost a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and otherwise process Your Content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service, including delivering share links you create.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to upload and share Your Content, and that doing so does not violate law or third-party rights. Public share URLs may be accessed by anyone with the link unless you enable available password protection. Agent uploads through MCP or the HTTP API are Your Content under these Terms.
Acceptable use
You may not use drophost to:
- Host malware, ransomware, phishing pages, or exploit kits
- Distribute illegal content, including CSAM or content that facilitates crime
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy, or other rights
- Harass, threaten, or dox others
- Attempt unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related infrastructure
- Bypass plan limits, rate limits, authentication, or security controls
- Use the Service in a way that degrades availability for others
- Misrepresent affiliation with drophost or use our branding without permission
We may remove projects, revoke share URLs, rate-limit traffic, or suspend accounts when we reasonably believe these rules were violated or when required by law.
Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed through our billing provider. Fees, billing intervals, and included entitlements are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. Taxes may apply.
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can manage or cancel through the billing portal linked from your account settings where available. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, fees are non-refundable for the current billing period after charge.
If payment fails, we may downgrade features, suspend paid entitlements, or terminate access after notice.
Availability and changes
We aim for reliable sharing but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, outages, provider incidents, and abuse mitigation may temporarily affect access.
Free projects may be rate-limited, deprioritized, or removed for abuse, inactivity, or operational reasons. The Service is not a backup product; keep your own copies of important files.
Our intellectual property
The Service, including software, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by drophost or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or branding except as needed to identify that you use drophost.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant that share links will remain permanently available or that Your Content will be free from loss or unauthorized access.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DROPHOST AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO DROPHOST FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY EUROS (€50).
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify drophost and its operators against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete projects from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or others.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, licenses granted for past operation, disclaimers, limits of liability, and indemnity) will survive.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Finland will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect intellectual property or confidential information. Consumers in the EU/EEA may also benefit from mandatory protections of their country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when practical. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
