drophost
Host a static site with drophost MCP
- Publish from chat
- index.html required in zips
- Named subdomain for asset paths
How to do it
1. Get a key
Create an API key in Settings and connect MCP.
2. Hand the agent HTML or a zip
A single page can be html. A multi-file site must be a zip that contains index.html.
3. Share the URL
publish_site returns the live drophost link. Use a named slug so asset paths resolve.
HTML or zip
Pass a full HTML document, or a zip with index.html plus CSS, JavaScript, and assets. The live URL opens in a normal browser.
Keep the same link
Use list_projects, then publish into an existing project_id when you want to add files. Filename clashes return FILE_EXISTS so the agent can pick a new name.
Publish a static site from chat
Connect drophost MCP, then ask your agent to host HTML or a zip with index.html. Free hosts sites on drophost.space with one project and 2 MB. Chat uploads max at 4 MB — split assets or use the dashboard for larger zips, then share the live URL with reviewers.
Keep or remove the same link
Ask the agent to list projects, add files to an existing link, or delete a project. Starter at €5/mo adds custom domains, passwords, and 100 MB across 8 projects. Pro at €12/mo expands to 30 projects and 500 MB.
Common questions
Can an agent host a static site on drophost?
Yes. Connect drophost MCP and call publish_site with HTML or a zip that includes index.html.
Does the zip need index.html?
Yes. For a drophost website upload, index.html is required—without it, the upload is rejected.
Is this a git deploy?
No. Export the site first, then upload to drophost. There is no Node or PHP runtime for your site.
