Publish a file from Claude without leaving chat
Connect drophost MCP once, ask Claude or ChatGPT to publish a file or static site, and get a normal browser URL recipients can open—no Drive ACL, no separate uploader ritual.

The annoying part of “the agent wrote the brief” is usually what comes next: download a blob, open a browser uploader, fight a Drive permission, paste a link that expires.
drophost MCP collapses that into one step inside chat. Connect once. Ask Claude or ChatGPT to publish. Get a public URL humans can open.
What actually happens
Your agent calls tools on /api/mcp—publish_file for a document or image, publish_site for HTML or a zip with index.html. drophost stores the project like a normal dashboard upload. The reply is a *.drophost.space link (or your custom domain on paid plans).
Recipients never touch Claude. They open a webpage.
Humans can connect with the MCP URL only and complete Clerk browser login. Scripts and CI send Authorization: Bearer dh_… from a hashed key in Settings. Details live in the MCP docs and the dashboard for larger payloads.
Same limits as the browser
Free, Starter, and Pro apply whether you drag a file or an agent publishes it. Free is one project and 2 MB. Starter is €5/mo for passwords, custom domains, and more room. MCP oneshot uploads cap at 4 MB; use the dashboard when the zip is larger.
Replace into the same project_id when you want the URL to stay put across revisions—useful when the agent iterates on a landing page or prompt pack.
When this is the wrong tool
- You need git CI and production deploys → Netlify / Vercel / Pages
- You need collaborative editing → Docs or Notion
- You need a multi-gig expiring send → a transfer tool
MCP is for publishing a finished artifact to a durable link, not for replacing your whole stack.
A simple first run
- Sign in and open Settings → Agent publish.
- Paste the MCP URL into Claude or ChatGPT; sign in when prompted.
- Ask: “Publish this Markdown as a drophost link.”
- Open the URL in a private window to confirm.
- Send it to a human who does not use your AI client.
Guided setup, including Cursor and other clients, is on /mcp. For zip previews, pair this with host a static site. For the product framing, see drophost is live.
Frequently asked questions
Do recipients need Claude or ChatGPT?
No. drophost returns a normal HTTPS page. Recipients open it in any browser.
Is MCP required to use drophost?
No. You can upload in the browser the same way. MCP is optional for agents and automation.
Do agent uploads use different plan limits?
No. MCP and HTTP uploads count against the same Free, Starter, and Pro limits as the dashboard. Oneshot MCP uploads max at 4 MB.
